With the PAST understood a TOWS/SWOT analysis can take place. Combining the two could be used to set the organization's near-term goals and direction. STARS + PAST + TOWS = Direction

Meet the team, employees, associates, customers and partners
Approach
Learn the mission, vision, current tactics, and processes
Spend
Understand the budget and how initiatives provide business value
Technology
Learn the tools that are used by the People to address and support the Approach
